Role: Lead Product Designer

Shipt is a on-demand grocery service that delivers groceries to your door steps. From special requests to last-minute changes, Shipt handles the details and keeps you updated the whole way.

As the founding designer I was responsible for designing both the consumer and shopper experiences across mobile and desktop, scaling the team to meet the needs of a growing startup, evolving the brand, and continually improving the experience based on direct user input and business needs.

In 2017, Shipt was acquired by Target for $550,000,000.

Key insights

A key part of the design process was talking directly to loyal members who were more than happy to share their thoughts.

them remember what they need to buy
Lists help members save money and stay on a budget
Members buy the same staples every week and lists are a convenient way to set recurring orders

List creation

We wanted Lists to be simple and personal. Members were able to create a list by adding a name, and adding items.

Search and manage lists

In order for the lists to work we had to include the ability for members to search items.

As members were looking at products we added the ability to add to list directly from the product view.
